GET TOUGH; YOU'RE A SOLDIER IN GOD'S ARMY
Thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3).
The army is a place if discipline and toughness. When you enlist in the army, you are subject to the directions and instructions of your commanding officer. A soldier in service doesn't do what ordinary civilians do; he's got a regimented lifestyle. He wakes up when the siren goes off, endures tough physical and mental training, and is always at the disposal of his commanding officer.Wjen it's time for war, he can't give excuses - he gets his kit together and is off to the battle front.
When you gave your life to Christ, you were enrolled as a soldier in God's army and you were put in uniform from that hour. The Bible says, "No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs - he wants to please his commanding officer" (2 Timothy 2:4 NIV). When you realize that you are a soldier in God's army, you begin to understand that you are called to a life of spiritual discipline. It's no longer a case of doing what you feel like doing, or what you want to do - you learn to take instructions from the Holy Ghost, your Commanding Officer. Going to Church no longer becomes optional prayer becomes part of your daily lifestyle, and soul winning is unquestionable.
True, you're an heir of God a d a joint heir with Christ. You're more tha a conqueror (Romans 8:37), and the devil has been defeated, but he's full of deception and that’s why you must be on your guard. The Bible says, "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12). Keep your uniform on and stand firm in faith as a good soldier in God's army.
