Scriptures For Meditation - November

STUDY: BREAKING BREAD

1 Corinthians: 20-35

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed took bread:

And when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

Breaking bread was an instruction Jesus gave to His disciples in the Bible. This can be found in Luke 22:19,  And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

This was reiterated in 1 Corinth. 11:24-25.

When you break bread, you remind yourself of the death burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ,

He was broken that you may never be broken, He suffered that you may never suffer, He died that you may never die.

Jesus took our place on that criss that we may have life He wanted us to have peace, He wanted us to have joy, full joy. Praise God!

So no fear, pain, lack, defeat, all because Jesus was all these fir you on that cross, all because Jesus was broken for you. Hallelujah!

Bread breaking is a significant aspect of our lives, every believer's life.

In Acts 2:46, the Bible says, And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Bread breaking is not only done in Church, it can also be done at home.

When we break bread, we affirm ourselves as part of the Church where we belong, and therefore, cannot be broken away.

Breaking bread is relevant in every area of our lives where we need a change.

You may have prayed, fasted and sown seeds, and you are yet to see your miracle; it's time to break bread!

You go ahead and remind yourself, what Jesus did and thereby put an end to that challenge. Praise God

The bread which is also known as the Holy Communion shows our oneness with Jesus. We take it, celebrating His finished work for us.

Live up to this consciousness today. If you have never broken bread on your own before,  go ahead and do so now using the Scripture in our opening verse. Praise God!
